Certifying Clinician
Certifying clinicians are required to hold current professional license to practice in New Mexico to diagnose the qualifying conditions. This includes MD, DO, NP, PA, and licensed naturopathic doctors (NDs/NMDs) . They must hold an NM controlled substance number, and documentation of HIPPA certification completed within the past two years. They must have a clinician-patient relationship with the patient and conduct an in person evaluation and medical clearance of the applicant. Certifying clinicians can also conduct a patient evaluation via telehealth if they have reviewed the medical records of another clinician who has seen the patient in person in the past six months or that they have had a formal consultation with a clinician who has seen the patient within the previous six months. Certifying clinician module consists of eight didactic hours prior to applying for certification. Didactic Content
Practitioner
Practitioners are required to hold current professional license to practice therapy, counseling, or behavioral health services in New Mexico. This includes PSY, LSW, LCSW, Psychiatrist, PMHNP, LPCC. They must have documentation of current BLS (including CPR and AED certification) or license as an emergency medical technician (EMT), and documentation of HIPPA certification. must complete a psilocybin therapy module consisting of a minimum of 65 didactic hours with at least one third of the didactic hours conducted in person, 10 hours of simulated patient experiencePractitioners must complete a psilocybin therapy module consisting of a minimum of 65 didactic hours with at least one third of the didactic hours conducted in person, 10 hours of simulated patient experience, and 100 practicum hours. Facilitators must complete a psilocybin therapy module consisting of a minimum of 65 didactic hours with at least one third of the didactic hours conducted in person, 10 hours of simulated patient experience, 120 practicum hours, and facilitators additionally must complete a facilitator-specific training module consisting of a minimum of five didactic hours.
